And let us know if you are interested in hosting a Safari Song group or want us to come to you.

Friday classes

Friday classes are at 10.30 for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old. We use more Chinese instruction so that grandparents and ayi's can follow more easily, to help parents who might not be able to attend.

Saturday classes

Toddlers class at 09.30 - 10.30 for 18 months to 4 years.

Babies  class 10.30 - 11.30 from tiny to 2 years.

For all the classes let us know if your little one has had a birthday - so we can celebrate with them.

A little bit about us

We set up Safari Time when our little baby was just 5 months old.

My husband and I wanted something that reflected our view of the world and the world we wanted our baby to grow up in.

We wanted to meet other people who felt the same way about the world and their babies the way we do.

I was born in Kenya to an English mother and Kenyan father, my husband has a Jamaican mother and Austrian father. I spent holidays in small family farm compounds with dirt floors at the foot of Mount Kenya. I have lived in Berlin and London, my husband has had similar experiences, and we all currently live in Beijing. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had such a cosmopolitan upbringing and life. A life where I would hear aunts speaking Swahili, grandparents speaking English and my parents singing German nursery rhymes to me

We want our child to have the same kind of experiences and we want him to have friends with similar rich international experiences that he can learn from.

That’s why we set up Safari Time Songs.

A place where he could learn to sing nursery rhymes and songs in different languages before he could even speak one.

A place where he could meet children of all different nationalities and races before he even new what a passport was or even knew there are different races.

I want to create truly cosmopolitan children and friends who can feel at home in Beijing or London. Who feel just as comfortable in a small village home in Shaanxi China as a five star hotel in New York.

I want a community of children growing up to be global citizens who see the similarities of the different people around the world before they see the differences.

We hope that this is just the beginning and one day we will grow little Safari Time groups all over the world.
